Hounds Edge Horde

Saturday, November 7, St. Louis Park - Coming off a 2-2 tie against Chaos, the Northern Horde played another close one only to lose at the end to the Puck Hounds 5-3. Only 18 seconds into the game, the Hounds got an open shot in the slot and beat Pete Morrow for an early 1-0 lead. After the Hounds pressured the Horde for 9 minutes, Brian Hinderks unloaded from the point on a nice feed from David Homel to tie it up. In an evenly played second period, each team scored with the Horde's goal coming from Jeff Nelson who picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone and beat the Hounds goalie with his backhand. The Hounds took the lead early in the third but Jon Zimmerman answered quickly taking the puck up the right side and putting a wrist slot between the goalie's blocker and glove near post. Unfortunately, with less than 6 minutes to go in the game, the Hounds scored again and the Northern Horde had no answer. An empty netter in the last minute sealed the game for the Puck Hounds.
The Horde next face the Wildcats Saturday, November 14, at Wakota at 10:10 start.
