We are a Not for Profit organization dedicated to raising funds for charity. To this end we:

1. Host living history shows and events with our members to educate and entertain.
2. Sell crafts made by our members.
3. Recreate a military encampment of the times.

There are three main points of the Horde philosophy:

1. Foremost we are a family, either by blood or by deed. When one member falters the others are there to lend a helping hand, a caring shoulder, or simply an ear for someone to talk to. It is this bond with one another from which the true strength of the Horde comes. Any that would share this bond are welcome to join us.
2. Combat is also a large part of what it is to be Horde. Though not all members take part in our battles our festivals and other activities revolve around the tournaments. Combat is not just a physical thing, we all fight battles, be they physical, mental, emotional, or any other sort of confrontation. It is through confrontation and combat that we learn courage, confidence and poise as well as learning not to be afraid of a challenge.
3. The third part of the Horde philosophy is community, to be active with in our community and to work for the betterment of those around us. This reminds us that we are merely one part of a greater whole. Our festivals are all fundraisers for charities or community projects. In doing this we serve something higher than ourselves.

Our Mission
The Northern Horde provides family friendly, safe medieval style entertainment to the audiences for whom they perform. The Northern Horde accomplishes this through the use of medieval training and fighting techniques to produce non-choreographed stage combat with reproductions of period weaponry, as well as through the use of games, demonstrations, period clothing, armor and weapon displays, and medieval period crafts and skills.
Our Vision
The Northern Horde, through the collective resources, skills, talents and trades of its membership, seeks to become a leader in the medieval style entertainment and chivalry combat sports industries. The Northern Horde intends to accomplish this goal through the cultivation and nurturing of business contacts and sponsors, cooperative efforts with other related entertainment groups, and positive promotion of both The Northern Horde and the medieval industry. The overall purpose of these efforts is to raise The Northern Horde from a volunteer grassroots organization to a financially self-sustaining entity that will positively drive and shape the medieval entertainment industry for the benefit of all.
